The University of Wisconsin AIDS Vaccine Research Laboratory (AVRL) is a leading edge research laboratory located on Madison, Wisconsin's near west side. With a special focus on next generation sequencing and collaborations all over the world, the AVRL is continuously pushing research forward related to HIV/SIV, influenza and TB pathogenesis, host immunogenetics, and virus discovery.

The AVRL also contains three of the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center service units. Genetics, Virology, and Immunology Services all provide fee-for-service work to a variety of clients in the biological research field.
